| Nathan Cozens Managing Director
Nathan gained his experience in property from the early days as a quantity surveyor in the City of London, moving on to residential development in the UK and then more recently as a partner in a leading UK property agency based out in Hong Kong.
Nathan is estimated to have been instrumental in more than £1 billion of UK property sales and is convinced that the creation of the Zurich Property Deposit Guarantee, in association with Zurich, will provide the missing link to making property buying a more pleasurable, cost effective and streamlined process for the discerning buyer.
Nathan has always wondered why keen buyers should be restrained from making a decision to buy because they haven’t got the ready cash, and if they can afford to exchange, why their deposit money should be lying dormant when it could be working for them throughout the construction period or through a lengthy or delayed completion.
These are problems that have made buying a property unnecessarily slow and inefficient and Nathan is pleased and very proud to be a part of bringing a solution to the market.
Liz Gratton Customer Experience Director
Liz is a highly regarded Customer Experience Director, with a wealth of experience in designing and implementing customer experiences across a wide range of channels from face-to-face to digital to phone. She is passionate about people - and that shows up in her approach to how she leads her teams, and how she treats her customers.
Liz was previously Egg's Customer Experience Director for 7 years, and prior to that had undertaken similar roles for Vodafone, HSBC Cards, and First Direct. She firmly believes in the possibility to create enduring relationships with customers which result in superior results for the organisation.
She has chosen to be part of The XBond team as she has previously been one of the customers who couldn't easily raise the required deposit on an off plan property, and therefore fully understands how disappointing this can be - dreams can be lost or realised with this sort of offering.
Paul Gratton Executive Chairman
Paul is probably most well known for his role as CEO of Egg. His passion lies in developing organisations that consumers trust and people love to work for and are proud of. He is attracted to businesses that ultimately deliver more than they would through commoditisation alone and he has a particular penchant for start ups!
Paul started his career at Midland Bank and was part of the think tank that created First Direct where he was Financial Services Director. From there he went on to be Operations Director in the start up team that became Prudential Banking and ultimately Egg. Paul was the Chief Operating Officer when Egg launched in 1998 and became Egg's CEO on 1st January 2001.
Having left Egg following its acquisition by Prudential, he currently splits his time across a range of executive and non-executive roles for start ups including XBond, Gasbox, Moneyquest, Edeus Mortgages and AIM listed Artilium. He also continues to develop his first start up business Direct Valuations, which 18 years on now accounts for around 5% of the residential surveying market in the UK.
